Wood will always be one of our favorite materials to source and decorate with. The multitude of tones and textures that are available never cease to amaze us. Upon discovering the collections of New Zealand based wood-working design studio, Walk In The Park, we were immediately taken with their modern interpretation and soft yet striking detailing.

Founded by artist Woo-Lam (Sam) Choi, who hand makes each of his designs in his Auckland studio. He began his wood-working journey in 2016 and is continuing his practice-led exploration into functional and sculptural objects.

The versatility and craftsmanship that’s displayed in Walk in the Park’s designs is unparalleled. Not to mention, with minimal care, these functional works of art will only get better with age. The final products are achieved using a particular technique called wood turning. The materials are ethically sourced and pay homage to the various types of wood that are available in New Zealand.
